Wasteserv was established in November 2002. As operator of last resort, the company is responsible for organizing, managing and operating integrated systems for waste management including minimisation, collection, transport, sorting, reuse, utilistation, recycling, treatment and disposal of solid and hazardous waste. The company also coordinates the export of waste to destinations outside the Maltese islands.  The ultimate aim of Wasteserv is to encourage people to make waste management an integral lifestyle practice. The company believes that established objectives will allow it to reach its intended aim

Wasteserv is committed towards establishing and maintaining innovative waste management infrastructure aimed at protecting the environment and society. Through on-going communication, the company aims to promote waste minimisation and recycling while also encouraging all stakeholders to take pride in being committed to sustainable waste management.

We manage waste by maximising the extraction of good quality recyclable materials and by generating renewable energy as part of our sustainable contribution for the Maltese Islands.

  • ACR (Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and Sustainable Resource Management)
  • ACR+ Med  (A learning and exchange platform for Local and Regional Authorities (LRAs) in the Union for the Mediterranean, created within the ACR+ network)
  • PR Club (A platform for exchange and debate about Extended Producer Responsibility in Europe amongst key stakeholders and experts)
  • ISWA (The International Solid Waste Association a global, independent and non-profit making association)
