Sant Antnin Waste Treatment - Environmental Policy

WasteServ management and staff at Sant’ Antnin Waste Treatment Plant in Marsascala are committed to continually improve the operations in order to minimise the negative environmental impact and prevent pollution. By encouraging and providing the facilities for waste separation, our operations have an overall positive impact on the environmental situation of the Maltese Islands.

To meet these commitments, the Sant’Antnin Waste Treatment Plant shall:

  • Comply with the requirements of the Environmental Permit EP 0021/09/B, all applicable environmental laws and regulations that relate to our environmental aspects and impacts
  • Address the policy objectives of the Solid Waste Management Strategy and meet the contributions of the National Renewable Energy Action Plan
  • Reduce the amount of waste going to landfill
  •  Produce renewable energy from waste
  • Monitor and control the ambient air quality in the facility and neighbouring environment     


To implement this policy the Sant’ Antnin Waste Treatment Plant has adopted an Environment Management System, based on the requirements of ISO 14001:2004

The management and staff of the Sant’ Antnin Waste Treatment Plant are aware of this policy and commit themselves to adopt it. They will also communicate this policy to the public, and all visitors and contractors at the plant.
